During the classes, students will be introduced to theoretical knowledge that will help them improve their journalistic skills in the future. The aim of the classes is to acquire the ability to recognize and use journalistic genres, adapt the linguistic form to the fullest and best presentation of the topic, and use an individual style within the journalistic form. Definitions, typology, history of journalistic types and genres as well as characteristics of genres within the division into information and journalism will be presented. The information provided will be oriented towards practical application in relation to the compositional, formal and content criteria of selected genres of journalistic expression. The determinants of press and media coverage will be discussed. Students will also learn about the works of classic journalism.

Assessment criteria
Attendance during lectures is not obligatory, but students are obliged to be active, which may result in a higher grade on the final exam. The course ends with an exam in the winter session.
