During the lecture, students learn about the basic issues of ethics and ethical concepts also in a historical context.
Learning content:
1. Elements of metaethics.
2. Anthropological assumptions of ethics.
3. Human acts.
4. Eudaimonology - an approach to Thomistic ethics, the problem of purpose and happiness in the history of ethics, the immanent goal of human life.
5. Axiology - historical development of views, moral specification of human acts, attributes of values, conflict of values.
6. Deontology - classification of positions, natural moral law, positive law and a duty in conscience.
7. Synejdeziology.
8. Areteology.

Learning outcomes
A student, who finished subject:
has organized basic information on ethics (F1aK_W12)
knows research methods and argumentation strategies appropriate for ethics (F1aK_W16)
independently develops philosophical (ethical) knowledge and develops research skills in the field of ethics, following the guidance of the tutor (F1aK_U02)
identifies ethical problems in the area of individual, social and religious life, formulates his own position towards them and is able to justify them (F1aK_U14)
in the discussion shows openness to new ideas and readiness to change opinions in the light of available data and arguments (F1aK_K02)
understands the ethical issues related to the responsibility for the accuracy of the knowledge transferred, with scientific honesty as well as reliability and honesty in a philosophical dispute (F1aK_K05)
Recognizes the need to refer to rational argumentation in ethical debates and understands the philosopher's responsibility for the rational nature of disputes (F1aK_K08)
