Term 2024/2025-L:
The cultural heritage of Kraków is not only about its monuments and architecture but, above all, about its people and social history, which have shaped this unique city over the centuries. In this edition, particular attention will be given to figures associated with Kraków’s church, science, sports, theater, film, and music—individuals who have had a significant impact on the city's development and character. We will also explore less obvious aspects of Kraków’s history, delving into legends of haunted places, analyzing the dark chapters of its criminal past, and discovering the city as a vibrant tourist destination. Additionally, we will reflect on the fate of the Jewish community, which has contributed to the city's unique atmosphere for centuries, and examine the dramatic moments when Kraków faced major epidemics that left their mark on its residents and urban landscape. |
