The phenomenon of religion can be divided into various components. These include: the image of God, the image of the human person—including phylogeny, a moral code, religious practices, religious art, a hierarchy of values, the meaning of life, the attitude toward suffering, and the concept of holiness. The following topics in the field of the psychology of religion will be discussed in this course:
1. The psychology of religion in the history of psychological thought and its relationship to other sciences, psychologism and theologism.
2. The methodology of contemporary psychology of religion.
3. The sociological and emotional factors that shape religion.
4. Religiosity and mental disorder. The issue of possession.
5. Religiosity and faith, mature religiosity and J. Fowler's concept of religious development.
6. The image of God. Moral development according to J. Piaget and L. Kohlberg.
7. Psychological analysis of certain religious practices (Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation, Meditation, Personal Prayer, Community Prayer).
8. Psychological Analysis of religious crisis.
9. Elements of Slavic religions in christianity in Poland.
10. Religious characteristics and types of atheism, issues of new religious movements (Sects).
11. Psychological approach to suffering as a significant religious and moral problem.
12. Conscience and the Self - realtion beetwen us in psychological context.

The student is able to utilize and integrate theoretical knowledge in the psychology of religion and related fields to analyze the causes and course of psychological processes, individual behavior, and phenomena occurring in society.
