T. 1. Philosophy: division and an attempt at definition
The main areas of philosophical thought, the starting point of philosophy, an attempt to define a name, philosophy as a science.
T.2. Ancient and patristic philosophy.
Presocratian schools, Socrates; ancient systems - Plato and Platonism, Aristotle and Aristotelism; Hellenistic philosophy; ancient Christian philosophy (and theology); patristic (St. Augustine)
T.3. Medieval philosophy
Early medieval philosophy (philosophical and theological disputes: St. Anselm); the flourishing of medieval philosophy (medieval universities; systems of medieval philosophy: Aristotelianism and medieval Augustinism).
T.4. Modern philosophy
The philosophy of revival and the philosophy of the 17th and 18th centuries (from Descartes to Kant); philosophy of romanticism and philosophy of the 9th and 20th centuries (German idealism, positivism and neo-positivism, pragmatism and evolutionism)
T. 5. Contemporary philosophy
The main directions of modern philosophy (existentialism, phenomenology, hermeneutics)
T. 6. Christian philosophy
An attempt to define the existence of Christian philosophy

Student:
E_1. on basic philosophical terminology in Polish
E_.2 has knowledge of the history of European philosophy from antiquity to modern times, including the most important theories, positions and clearly defined problem areas occurring in it
E_3. in his arguments, he aptly evokes the views and philosophical arguments of classical and contemporary authors
E_.4. is aware of the importance of the European philosophical heritage in understanding social, cultural and religious events.
Assessment criteria
- Attendance
- Positive exam grade in the content of the lecture. The exam is carried out orally or in writing and consists in presenting the correct answer to the questions asked by the teacher concerning the issues presented during the classes and included in the indicated literature.
