Various components can be distinguished in the phenomenon of religion. These include: the image of God, the image of the human person - including phylogeny, moral code, religious practices, religious art, hierarchy of values, meaning in life, attitude to suffering, and the concept of holiness. During the course, the following problems in the field of the psychology of religion will be discussed:
1. Psychology of religion in the history of psychological thought and relations to other sciences, psychologism and theologism
2.Sociological and emotional religion-creating factors
3. Religiosity and mental disorder. The problem of possession.
4. Pastoral care of people with mental disorders
5. Religiosity and faith, religious maturity, the concept of religious development according to J. Fowler
6. The image of God. Moral development according to J. Piaget and L. Kohlberg.
7. Methods of psychological research on religiosity
8. Psychological aspects of some religious practices (sacrament of penance and reconciliation, meditation, personal prayer, community prayer)
9. Psychological analysis of the religious crisis
10. Elements of Slavic religions in Christianity in Poland.
11. Elements of psychology in the Old and New Testaments.
12. Religious features of atheism and atheistic ideologies and religious movements
13. Psychological approach to suffering as an important religious and moral problem
14. Conscience and self - an attempt to define both spiritual spaces of a human being

Learning outcomes
1. The student has a basic knowledge of the psychology of religion.
2. The student knows the possibilities of using and limiting the psychology of religion in social life.
3. The student knows the scope of their knowledge and skills, understands the need for continuous training and professional development.
4. The student in the discussion shows openness to new ideas and readiness to change opinion in the light of the available data and arguments.
5. The student is able to distinguish the scopes of knowledge covering psychology and theology in the context of inner life.
Assessment criteria
Oral exam from the material presented during the classes.
