Applicability for admission to second-cycle programmes, postgraudate studies.

Professional status:

A graduate of first-cycle studies is able to use knowledge of general, basic and specialized courses covered by the curriculum. A graduate has the qualifications of a musician in the field of artistic activity covering various areas of church music, and a teacher in general education. They are prepared to work in institutions promoting musical culture in society. The acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills enable them to conduct specific activities, such as performing the functions of an organist, music life animator in parishes and other pastoral centers, leading music bands (choirs, scholas, instrumental ensembles), preparing psalterists and cantors for liturgical service, teaching selected music classes in child and youth education centers, undertaking musical activities in cultural institutions and the media (radio, press, TV). A graduate has the skills of a qualified musician or teacher in the field of music education and animation, as well as theoretical and practical knowledge to teach general music classes in general education up to and including secondary school. A graduate has a knowledge of a foreign language at B2 level of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe. A graduate is prepared to start second-cycle studies having passed an exam stated in the studies regulations. A graduate who intends to conduct teaching activity in general education has to gain pedagogical qualifications in accordance with the requirements set by relevant provisions.
