Applicability for admission to second-cycle programmes, postgraudate studies.
Professional status:
In the course of studies, the graduate acquires knowledge in the fields of history of art , methodology of history of art, cultural history and anthropology, monuments research, conservation and museology as well as the shaping and protection of cultural landscape and heritage. Moreover, the student acquires technical skills, including freehand drawing, photography, computer techniques, develops their knowledge of issues related to the material culture and technology of works of art (material science, history of artistic techniques). The student also gets acquainted with the issues connected with the history of religious culture and cultural traditions of Poland, with a particular emphasis on Małopolska. They will gain a comprehensive knowledge of the history of art and culture which will enable them to undertake research on historical monuments, issue opinions on the protection of cultural monuments and document the obtained results. The graduate is prepared to solve complex problems in the field of monument protection and supervise various restoration projects. The graduates are therefore equipped with the skills to work in museums and art galleries, auction houses, services and companies carrying out conservation activities as well as institutions acting for the protection of heritage and forming opinions and attitudes for the protection of cultural assets.
