Getting acquainted with biblical ecclesiogenesis (when was the Church formed?), calling it into existence in the Old Testament and in the New Testament, compiling basic biblical images and categories of the Church. Giving the gift of redemption by the Holy Spirit in the Church community of faith.
Getting acquainted with the history of the development of the doctrine of the Church over the twenty centuries of its existence.
The modern definition of the Church and its realization in the light of modern Church doctrine, the institutional and hierarchical structure (the Petrine, episcopal, priestly, diaconal offices). Discussion of the five marks of the Church: one, holy, universal, apostolic and Marian.
The strengthening communio within the universal Church.

Learning outcomes
The purpose of the lectures is for the students to acquire basic knowledge within the science of the Church, to deepen their understanding of the Church as a divine-human community. To show the Church as an earthly and heavenly reality, material and spiritual, sinful and holy, fulfilled and eschatological. Therefore, an integral view will be presented, i.e. the Church in the light of both fundamental theology and dogmatic theology.
